All things flirty, fun and fashionable.

That’s the million dollar question! Picture this, a beautiful lady walking down the street wearing a pair of super cute knee-high boots, a nice denim jean, a pair of warm gloves, ear muffs, a set of cute dangley earrings, a nice turtleneck and………..a very fly but crop wasted jacket!

Now picture her walking in THE BLIZZARD FROM HELL!!!!

Exactly!

Every year we see this, and every year somebody struggles with the decision to look super cute or be appropriately warm. At the end of the day the decision solely rests at the feet of the wearer but for the sake of all that is healthy (especially if you have no HEALTH insurance) please KNOW you DO NOT have to forgo practicality for style. Designers all over the world, have seen your frostbite, your runny noses and your visits to the free clinic (no, not that one) and since the beginning of time are making outerwear that is both fashionable & weather-friendly.

Here’s a few options:

  • Boyfriend coat- which glides over your waist and hips and can be any length. Image
  • Wrap Coat- Similar to the wrap dress, this too will especially compliment the curvaceous.
  • Cape – This one is probably my favorite simply because if feeds my super woman complex.(shhhhh)
  • Parka- This woman is the traditional choice because it’s usually lined with some sort of down.Image
  • Pea or Military coat- Double breasted and usually hip length, this is a cute look for the person with a classic style.

With all those options for you to pick from, I’m 100% positive your ready to set the world on fire with your style choices. Picking one that compliments your figure, your pockets and your body temperature can not only be practical but exciting & fun.

Who spiked the EGG NOG ???????

why not go all out?  We’ve got the outfit but, for some reason when we think of holiday attire we like keep it below eye level. But what about our do’s?? …as in our hairdo’s??  We often neglect our coif’s,  keeping it simply by going with the TYPICAL pony tail or spiral updos but for the most part our hair goes unnoticed and if we there’s one thing we love to do around the holidays it’s over do it with the decor!!!!

So this year I say let’s go for it guys, caress your tressess with a little added holiday dresses!!!

Need ideas ? Check out these hair ideas!

The fun (and frustrating to some) thing about being a creative type is that you never know which way your going to go regarding anything. If you’re anything like me, you purposely look for the  boundaries and then brazenly cross it. Why? BECAUSE YOU WANT TO and because the alternative feels like someone sitting on your neck, sucking the life right out of you!!!!

So now that I’ve created that visual let’s talk about the rules we’ve absent-mindedly created for ourselves as it relates to our own looks. Although we are pretty good at pushing the envelope, how many of us still have those looks, colors or pieces we refuse to wear simply because we don’t like the way they look on us? How many of us limit our wardrobes to things that are safe according to our own aesthetic.

For example never in a million years would I get caught in the color green. If I did wear it it was only on St. Patty’s day or at some god-awful office Christmas party (which usually meant some kind of bet was lost, but that’s another blog). Lately though, I’ve had to revisit my reasons for not wearing the color. Does it match my skin or hair color? Image Since when did I start to give a damn?  Sure you want to look good in whatever you wear, but doesn’t it start from the inside anyway?

Just a freakin’ thought!!!

You’ve purchased the membership, acquired the home equipment Image,                                                                                                                    grabbed the latest in workout fashions, Image                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     stocked the pantries  workoutfood and now you have everything you need to actually implement your healthcare regimen right?

Almost!!

It looks like our buddies at The Forbidden Fruit… aka APPLE have thrown their hats into the fitness ring and from what I’ve heard, it’s on its way towards becoming yet another desired Apple product. Collaborating with the innovative pioneers at Misfit Wearables , Apple has unveiled a device that will make it that much easier for you to track your cardiac-intensive activities. Supposedly, the piece is completely waterproof ( you can swim down to 300 feet or sweat to your heart’s content), is shock resistant and includes a sensor that shows your current level of activity (who doesn’t need the added encouragement?). You can sync the item to your iPhone and Android-devices for tracking cycling, swimming and running distances as well. Creatively named Misfit Shine Personal Physical Activity Monitor,  the device is a round medallion that can be attached to clothing or wear on the body. Marketed as a sleek, quarter-sized device that can be worn with a wrist strap, as a necklace, or with a small clip on clothing I’d say it’s time to convince the hubby it’s a must have. HC721
